Ontario
The Golf Association of Ontario was formed in 2001 after the merger of Ontario Golf Association and the Ontario Golf Association and Ontario Ladies Golf Association and the new governing body is responsible for organizing more than 100 annual competitions for golfers of both genders of all ages. With a membership of 115,000 golfers from over 420 golf clubs the GAO splits its membership into 14 districts that are more manageable.
There's an array of high-quality golf courses that can be located in Ontario. If it's old-fashioned layouts that appeal to you, then look into the two Stanley Thompson-designed courses in the early 1920s, at St George's and Westmount or check out the older Harry Colt tracks in Hamilton (1916) in addition to Toronto (1911). However If modern courses are your preference, then Tom McBroom's Course located at Rocky Crest and the 18-hole course created by Doug Carrick at Muskoka Bay may be for you.
